Open to all full-time undergraduate students pursuing their first degrees from an accredited 4-year institution and have at least 2 full semesters leading up to graduation.

The scholarship is open to non-U.S. residents and international students who are studying at a U.S.-based institution of higher education.

Award Amount and Terms

There are 6 $7,500 scholarships awarded each year. The awards are distributed in two parts; the first half is awarded for the fall semester and the second for the spring semester. Funds are paid directly to the recipients.

How to Apply

Download and complete the application on the website. Applicants must also submit a financial aid form and a 500-word essay related to their choice of career in healthcare. 

Also required are 2 letters of recommendation. All documents must be mailed and received by the deadline.

  1. DAR Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship

Open to students who have been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and are in financial need.

Application Requirements

In addition to proving financial need, applicants must provide a letter of acceptance into a nursing program or a current transcript.

Deadline: February 15

Award Amount and Terms: A one-time scholarship of $2,500 is awarded to 3 students per year.

  1. Cascade Healthcare Nurses Make A Difference Scholarship

Open to current students in an undergraduate nursing degree program at an accredited college or university, as well as high school students who have been accepted into college and plan to study nursing.

Application Requirements: Applicants must be legal U.S. residents or hold a student visa, be at least 18 years of age, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Deadline: Beginning of August; you can visit the website for details.

Award Amount and Terms: A one-time payment of $1,000 is paid to the recipient’s student account.

How to Apply: Complete the application on the website. Applicants must also submit an essay based on the current scholarship writing prompt.

  1. International Medical University, Malaysia Scholarships & Bursaries. 

Scholarships are applicable at the International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur to support in full or in part the tuition fees for the entire duration of a nursing degree. 

They are granted to both international and domestic students based on academic performance, extra engagement in the curriculum, and qualities of leadership.

Endowed Scholarships International students who demonstrate financial need and exceptional merit may apply for the Endowed Scholarships. 

Endowed Scholarships are from generous donors intended to support specific students. There is a single application for all endowed scholarships. Each application will be considered for every scholarship the applicant is eligible for. 

You can see a list of the established endowments on the sidebar.  Endowed funds can vary greatly from year to year and are awarded annually. Students must reapply every year. The following criteria are used to select the successful candidate:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Exceptional academic records


Applicants must be admissible or fully admitted to the University of Oregon. New students must apply for admission to the UO for Fall 2023 by January 15, 2023. 

Applicants cannot be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or eligible to receive U.S. federal financial assistance. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA requirement.

  • You must apply for Admission to the University of Oregon before you can apply for scholarships.
  • Watch your email for an invitation to enter the UO Scholarship Dashboard. This happens within a week of submitting your application for admission.
  • Log in to the UO Scholarship Dashboard and submit the General Application, ISSS Endowed Scholarships Application and ICSP Scholarship Application.  You must apply for admission before this step.
